TECHNOLOGY

Our solution is based on vortex mill technology, which has been in industrial use in the United States since the 1970s, and capable of pulverizing any element from metal to organic matter.

The system works as a continuous flow from the moment the waste or scrap is fed to the vortex mill, until it is filtered into different streams in powdered form under 150µm at the other end (1.36µm median particle size). Depending on the mass of scrap or waste needed to be treated, we use 1 ton/h, 6 ton/h, and 20 ton/h systems. These mobile systems are stored in our facility where they can receive waste, but there is also the option to transport them on-site in a standard shipping container to locations where large amounts of waste are difficult displace.

In this case there is no EPA audit required prior to installation or environmental clean-up needed after processing, it’s almost as easy as parking a rig in a bay and removing it once the job is done. On average, the mixed feedstock received by a smelter contains between 15% and 38% metal. The rest is ceramic, resin, and substrate that a furnace is paying full energy cost to destroy. By removing non-metal elements we allow smelters to drastically reduce their energy bill by 62% with no disruption to their operations.

STEP 1:
INTAKE

The waste material arrives whole, no pre-shredding required.

STEP 2: PROCESSING

The aerodynamic vortex mill subjects material to extreme shear forces, particle classification is done by density and aerodynamic signature.

STEP 3: SEPARATION

Precious metal concentrates, base metal fractions, and inert materials separate into distinct classified streams with particles under 150µm.

STEP 4:
DELIVERY

The powdered metal concentrate is either delivered as clean, assayed feedstock or sent to our refinery partners for processing into bullion.
